Christmas and Hanukkah time is quickly approaching

Every year, this time of the year flies. Once trick or treating is done, Thanksgiving, then Christmas and Hanukkah. Before we know it, it will be 2012! This year, we stayed home for the Thanksgiving weekend. This gave us an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit.

On Friday, we rested.
On Saturday, we raked and cleaned out the garden and shed, while the kids played outside. We started bring out the holiday decorations from the crawl space.
On Sunday, we went to Gaver's Tree farm, picked out a tree, cut it down, and brought it home to decorate. We also out up our lights. This is the earliest ever that we have had the tree up and lights up. Love it! And so do the girls...especially Bella since she is really starting to get the whole decoration thing.

November here and just about gone!

(click to read entire post)
I haven't been very good with blogging lately. I started a bento blog and was trying to do both blogs, two online businesses, full time job, and mommy/wife. Couldn't do it all. So, going to work on juggling it all or minimizing :)

So, since my last post.....
Morgan is doing well. She got all As and Bs in her first quarter of 8th grade. She is now participating in two after school activities: Yearbook Committee and National Honor Society. So proud of her. She has made leaps and bounds with her violin playing. I will have to upload it here. Brought me to tears listening to her. She is also doing well with horseback riding....she is taking 1 private lesson and 1 group lesson per week. She loves it!

Bella is doing well, too. Let's see. She dressed up as a Leopard Witch for Halloween. She loved trick or treating this year. She loves school, both Kidsco and PEP. She knows all of her letters, letter sounds, numbers, shapes, can count to 20, and can count items up to 5! She amazes us each and every day with all of the new things she learns.

This year for Thanksgiving, we drove to Deanna's for a McNab family Thanksgiving. We drove in for the day and returned the same night....alot of driving but enjoyed having the next day available to......thought I would say shop, eh? Nope....we rested and hung out. Relaxing day. Today we raked leaves, cleaned out the garden, and cleaned out the shed. Tomorrow, we will pick out our Christmas tree and decorate for Hannukah and Christmas. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!

Fall is here....the weather is more crisp, the leaves are falling, and pumpkins are everywhere. My favorite time of the year :)

Morgan is doing well. She is LOVING horse back riding, so much that she goes two times per week to the stables. One time to ride and the other time to help with feeding and stable chores; AKA barn rat :) She loves the horses. She seems so confident and glowing when around the horses. Morgan is growing up so fast and is turning into a beautiful teenager. She got her haircut recently and her new long layers make her look so much older.

Bella is Bella.....our little fire cracker! She is having a great year so far in prek, both regular prek and PEP Pilot. She even went on her first field trip ever. She rode the school bus!!! She loved it as did she love the field trip. Bella also got her haircut real short...absolutely adorable!

September 2011

Once again, I have let far too much time pass between posts. Let's see, it was summer last time I posted. Summer came and went. We are now in our first month of school. All is going well in the school department for the McNab girls.

Morgan started 8th grade. OMG! I cannot believe it! Here is Morgan on the first day of school. Still blows me away that next year she will be in high school! She is still playing violin, starting the school year off with her new violin that she did not use much last year. She has decided to take a break from swimming and start horseback riding. She has been asking for a year now and we finally took the plunge. She is starting with a weekly private lesson now and there is even talk about adopting a horse! She is also interested in 4H and volunteering. She joined the Yearbook Committee and Ecology Clubs at school...Busy Busy Busy!
Over the course of the summer, Morgan developed a love for reading. She found a genre that she loves and she hasn't stopped since. She enjoys reading about vampires, witches, and such. Her favorite author is LJ Smith. She read 4 very large books this summer. I even caught her reading really late at night....kinda like her Aunt Joc when she was little ;)
Bella started preschool this year. She also started two days per week in the PEP Pilot class in her home school. She loves school and does really well. Bella continues to keep us busy and on our toes.
I asked Bella if she wanted to take classes doing somersaults, karate kicks, or swimming. She said somersault....so gymnastics it is. She does very well and seems to really enjoy it. She even has her friend, Madison, in class with her.

What else can I share about Bella???
Oh yeh, she is potty trainined! Thanks to Kaitlyn a her preschool...she is potty trained. She even wears panties when we go out and is learning to hold it til we get to a bathroom. We are so proud of her. Here are a few cute recent pics of Ms. Bella.

Summer Vacations 2011

Two vacations since I last blogged. First, I took the girls to NJ for 6 days. We went to the beach, rode rides on the boardwalk, hung out with family, and missed Greg. We came home after 6 days to turn around again and go away. This time, all four of us went on an overnight trip to the Shenandoah Mountains. We stayed at Skyland Resort in a 1 bedroom suite. We visited the Luray Zoo, hiking to a waterfall, ate yummy food, went horseback riding, and took a ride on a boat in the Shenandoah River. We packed all kinds of stuff into 24 hours. It was very tiring but TONS of fun!
